YMCA Howmans Gap Alpine Discovery Camp

Howmans Gap Discovery Camp is an alpine centre and adventure camp located by Falls Creek, Victoria.

We cater to schools, groups and families and we're open all year round. We run a variety of fun programs and activities to suit every group: from skiing and tobogganing in winter, to orienteering and mountain biking in summer.

We offer a range of accommodation including shared rooms, private rooms and accessible rooms for people with disabilities. All our accommodation options are warm, clean and comfortable. Rooms include modern amenities - ideal for families, community groups and school groups. Howmans Gap is able to accommodate up to 208 people comfortably.

We have two main accommodation wings (A & B Wings) with 16 rooms in each sleeping between 2 to 7 people in bunk beds.  Guests share modern bathroom facilities in these 2 wings.

Our state-of-the-art Alpine Accessible Accommodation building is fully accessible – with 6 rooms sleeping between four to six people each room is fitted with at least one (if not two) modern accessible ensuites - which means we're suited for everybody. We also have a range of accessible activities and additional equipment for hire. All accommodation areas have excellent heating and drying rooms for all of your ski and outdoor clothing.

Guests enjoy great value, nutritious and tasty meals in the dining room which originally housed workers from 52 different countries as they toiled to build the Kiewa Valley Hydro scheme. We also have a communal games room, conference/theatre room, and guest lounge with incredible views of Spion Kopje. Free parking on-site.
