What is the difference between Sports and Performance rentals? Which is right for me?

Our Sport range is best for skiers and riders starting out or looking to progress their skills at slower to moderate speeds across all ability levels.  Typically, our Sport range offer easy turn initiation and have a forgiving flex.

Our Performance range offer excellent ease of use while having a stiffer flex, providing better edge grip and stability at moderate to higher speeds across all skill levels.

• Minimum height requirement for Performance Skis is 140cm and 145cm for Snowboards
• Our Performance range is limited, and we recommend booking to avoid disappointment
• Our Performance range is available at Falls Creek Sports Slalom Plaza and Village Bowl only

We recommend upgrading to the Performance range for guests who are advanced skiers or boarders.

Do you rent helmets?

Yes, helmets for both adults and children are available for hire and are included in children’s ski and snowboard rental packages

Please note that all children participating in a lesson are required to wear an accredited snow sports helmet.

When booking online and in advance, helmets must be added as part of a package and cannot be booked online by themselves.

Do you rent goggles or gloves?

No. due to hygiene reasons, we don’t rent out goggles or gloves however these are available to purchase in-resort at our retail outlets.

Can I bring my own boots?

Of course. Skis/Snowboard only rentals can be purchased online and in-store.

I am an Epic Australia Pass Holder, how and where can I redeem my Epic Australia Pass rentals discount?

Epic Australia Pass holders receive 20% off rentals. Your discount will be shown at the order review step of the checkout process.

Do I need chains for my vehicle, where can I rent them?

Yes, it is a legal requirement to carry and fit where directed diamond pattern wheel chains during the winter season. Fines apply for not carrying or fitting as directed.

Chains are NOT available to rent on mountain and must be arranged prior to arrival.

• All vehicles must carry chains when entering the resort.
• All vehicles must fit chains as directed by ‘fit chains’ signage.
• Exemptions for fitting chains (i.e. 4WD exemption) are determined by road conditions on an ongoing basis.
• Fitting winter/snow tyres does not negate the requirement to carry or fit chains as directed.

If we arrive early, can we pick up our skis the day before?​

Yes, and we welcome it.

For one and two-day rentals, equipment can be collected from 3pm the day before your ticket starts.

For three or more day rentals, you can collect your equipment from 2pm the day before your ticket starts to take full advantage of the free PM access included with your ticket!

What time do I have to return my rental equipment by? ​

You can return your rental equipment up until 10am the day after your rental package expires without being charged for the additional day.

Can I exchange or swap my rental equipment?​

Yes. One of the many benefits of hiring your equipment directly from Falls Creek Sports is the option to exchange your rentals any time at any one of our convenient hire locations.

If you’re having any trouble with your equipment (e.g. sizing or fit), head into any of our outlets at Slalom Plaza or Village Bowl and our friendly staff will help you out.

If you’d like to swap between skis/snowboards and vice versa you can do so at any of our outlets. Please note there is a $18 fee.

If your plans change you have the option to either cancel or change your booking.

Changes or cancellations that result in money being payable back to the purchaser will be issued in the form of a Snow Credit. No cash refunds will be issued.

Any requested changes of cancellations to bookings must be made at least 48 hours or more prior to the earliest scheduled commencement date of your booking.

How much time should I allow for rental pick-ups? 

This can vary depending on the day and time off pick-up, as well as the size of your group. We recommend allocating at least one hour for rental collection and fittings, with these times generally extended during busy periods (such as weekend mornings). If possible, we recommend picking up your rentals from 3pm the day before your lesson to ensure a smoother experience 

I have a morning lesson and need to pick up rentals. What time should I pick up my rentals? 

If you are picking up your rentals the same day as your lesson, we recommend arriving at Falls Creek Sports Slalom Plaza or Village Bowl at least an hour prior to your lesson departure time. For example, if your lesson is at 10am, you will need to be at Halley’s Comet Chairlift by 9:00am and at Falls Creek Sports Slalom Plaza by 8:00am. 

Picking up and fitting of rentals can take longer than you expect, so the more time you give yourself, and your family, the better. If possible, we recommend picking up your rentals from 3pm the day before your lesson to ensure a smoother experience. For Saturday bookings, please note Falls Creek Slalom Plaza opens from 7:30am.

When is the best time to collect my rentals? 

For the smoothest experience, we recommend collecting your rentals the day prior to your booking from 3pm. If you have three or more days of rentals and lift tickets booked, you can collect from 2pm the day prior. This will ensure you get even more time out on the slopes.  

If this isn’t possible, please be aware that mornings are typically our busiest period, especially on weekends, therefore wait times for rental collections may be extended. Please factor this in if you have a lesson booked. 

If I’m doing night skiing and boarding, can I drop my rentals off afterwards? 

Our Falls Creek Sports Slalom Plaza store is open until 9pm on Wednesdays and Saturdays for rental drop-offs after night riding.
